She let her first arrow fly tonight after watching 3 does for 30 minutes. It was a 30 yard shot and a clean miss. I think my heart was beating as fast as hers. She’s taking it pretty hard I told het it happens to the best of us and tomorrow is a new day. I was definitely proud of her patience and stillness. I think the doe ducked her arrow.
Ended up bailing 20 min before last shot due to more rain pending. Did a drive around and spotted some deer I may try to make a move on tomorrow afternoon. We’ll see.
Didn’t see shit this morning minus 1 squirrel. Scouted my way out and found some more buck deer sign a little further into this marsh bullshit so that’s where I’m at for the evening. Thankfully I got super sweaty and mud up to my calves on the trek in. I’m sure a lot of deer will be happy to move around in 35mph+ wind gusts
1 squirrel totally made my efforts worthwhile and getting all of my shit soaked. Telling myself tracking and dragging in that rain would’ve sucked balls so I feel less bad lol
Stuff is revving up a touch here. Heard a mature buck was locked on a doe in a ditch bottom yesterday. I just watched a stud on a mission in my section. Great weather to get a kick off of rut stuff heating up....
Got out of class early so I’m in. Pissed off, sweaty and sitting on the ground looking at all my climbing gear. I’ll be impressed if I even have a deer blow at me at this rate Good luck to anyone else out, buddy that has a camera a mile or so away has had 4 different young bucks on it in the past 2 hours.
Just in, had to wait for the sun, such as it was today, to slide past the hill. This stand needs a down thermal to work so, waiting on the down thermal for this to work...
