Had a pair of mature does come by at sub 5 yards. I went undetected. Let them walk in hopes that something with antlers was following them… I was wrong.
Fun evening! Steve at Strouds got me blood thirsty and this 6pt at 35yrds from the ground blind provided a chance to quench the thirst. Shot at 6:02pm, was able to get quick video of him looking like he would barely make the wood line. Thats the arrow head sticking out/exit on RH side. He was qtr. away on LH side, entered in front of back LH leg, came out behind front RH shoulder.
Unfortunately the flethcings looked to plug the exit hole and blood got tough after 450'ish yards. 7:35pm buddy with drone arrived, located him 15-20mins later but tree canopy & distance wouldn't allow a convincing view with spotlight. We (plus oldest 2 boys) relocated down the road and at 8:15ish confirmed it was him. We parted ways and boys headed to bed. I got Ty out of bed at 9:30pm to help (he was pumped after watching the drone) and we were able to locate him in the same bed. Stupid thick and no way I would have found him another 170yrds from last blood. I really have no idea why he went the way he did. All worked out.
