Annnnd right when he busted me ....lol . He has one stubby G2, so no worries.
Took advantage of a calm morning and rising barometer to hunt that stand, but once the wind picks up, you gotta bail. It went from having a range hood on, to having a ceiling fan on between 9:30-10. Saw the 3 and that was it. Going to winterize the camper and haul it to the farm before the afternoon hunt.

I was getting caught up on everyone’s hunts!
Some really nice bucks hit the ground lately! Some meat in the freezer is a pretty good thing to celebrate TOO

Lone buck just after legal shooting time, small basket rack 6/8. Two for fed by a half hour later and just before 9 a shooter was searching for love across the creek headed to a bedding area.
Temps aren’t bad but this wind is wicked and causing some definite wind chills!
Back in grabbing a bite, couple cups of coffee and head back out around 3. Rain moving in between 2-3 lasting for 20 minutes according to the forecast….
There’s a scrape along the driveway 30 yards from the house under a pine tree, first time seeing this and I’ve been hunting here for 30 years…

Guessing things are going to pop off on the backside of this full moon with dropping temps this weekend into next week.
Im in the stand. Wind is gusting 25 to 30 here. Tree is swaying. Hoping it lays down before dark.

I picked up a property over the summer and hadn't been to it yet, seen they picked the corn so called the owner and he said I was still welcome and that there were 5 bucks in the field last night. So I grabbed the blind out of the truck and luckily the farmer missed about 10 rows of corn right where I wanted to be so I brushed it in and me and savannah climbed in. Not expecting much but its worth a shot.

Well it worked he just went the wrong way when he came into our field. We will try it again later this week
Wind never laid down and deer didn’t move until last light. Still lots of leaves on the trees and with 20 minutes of shooting light left you could barely make out 2 doe walking by at 10 yards.

Wind blew so hard I got down and sat on the ground. Had a good setup but nothing showed.

Hunted a new spot this evening looked promising. Hung a camera before I left and as soon as it was dark they piled in just my luck lol.
