Got to my stand this morning to find that the Prusik knot on my lifeline was frozen!. Tried using my HotHands warmer to no avail.. Hand to pour water on it from my water bottle. After 10 minutes I finally worked it free. Proceeded to climb up my ladder sticks and when I grabbed the cold metal my now wet gloves stuck to the ladder!!! Thought that I would never get up in the stand!!! Glad I took a back up pair of gloves....
I am going with the aggressive route this afternoon. Hoping to catch the right trail from bedding to food. Banking on doe movement with the temps and wind and in turn bring some bucks by. Gonna be zero or hero, and I have a feeling which I’m gonna be (not a hero )

I swear it’s been blowing 30 mph for two weeks straight. I’m in. But this wind really fuggin sucks.
I had to take the Browns to the Super Bowl, so I went back to the truck and grabbed lunch. That's why I love that spot. Flawless access barring an anomaly. Full belly, empty bowels, and a fresh can of Zyn. We back in baby!
Funny thing you mention the Prusik knot. Same thing happened to me and dad this morning. I don’t ever remember that happening in 10 plus years of using those things.

When I decided to get back down this morning I discovered that the knot refroze because of the water that I poured on it earlier.

@jagermeister 110% agree dude. It also amazes me how hard it can blow and still swirl despite being on perfectly flat land
I’m in. Feel like a bigger moron than usual. My hide is great and there’s a fair bit of fresh deer sign. Threading the wind needle big time tonight. Gut is telling me I should’ve stayed home and not get wind burnt again but here we are. Starting to regret chili for dinner yesterday and lunch today. Happy I’m sitting on the ground

I’m up, we will see what happens. I’m across the thicket from where I was yesterday. He walked the trail I’m watching this morning while I was at the vet getting staples taken out (thanks barb wire)

Im in the blind. Good steady south wind but alot of it is being blocked by the woods. Hoping one comes cruising by scent checking the woods and looking for a little bite of corn.

Im in, the buck im wanting to see hasnt been here but there was 5 different bucks here last night and when I was walking back I had a small 10 locked down with a doe in the field already

Got the skunk out of the tree. This little guy skirted the thicket just like I hoped would happen. Have about another hour and some change left
Well, he came out behind a doe like I'd hoped, but crossed the holler 100 yards away. Was in the ball game for 10 seconds, just in the upper deck

9 doe an one dink buck chasing hard . The boy had a blast he wouldn't shut up the whole time so I count it as a win. He finally committed tonight he wants to take his hunters Ed and wants to start shooting a bow ASAP! So I may finally have a hunting partner next year. I love hunting but sharing it with someone makes it that much more special. My little girl has been up my ass to take her these last two weeks as well , if she gets the bug I might not get much time to hunt for myself next year
