Saw 3 bucks and 2 does. Good sit. Nothing close enough but I gained some intel.

Yup, levi got his buck and im just going threw the motions. He gave me a list of bucks I should shoot and that is what im doing. Knowing damn well we aren't going to take 2 mature bucks off the same spot. Lol.
Wraps up a couple pretty good days. Freezer looking healthy. Both of these deer are 100% due to smoking my clothes. Both directly down wind. 6 hunts since I started that with deer downwind, not one spooked. Thanks for the advice and good luck to anyone hunting this week. Gonna save a tag for gun season to hunt/patrol the property.

Basket and a doe bedded together just off the trail on the way out. Likely the same 2 I saw this morning, assuming she is getting close to being ready. I really want to sleep in tomorrow, but after that I gotta get one more sit in that section. Heading north Thursday after class for a few days of rifle so this may be my last Ohio “rut” sit.

It was a complete clusterf@#$ getting up this tree but im in, and in a spot ive never hunted before. I got clear up to hanging height and dropped both my coats and knew id freeze so i had to go clear back down and back up, thankfully i got in early. Walk in sure is different in the dark lol. Didnt spook anything that i know of so there's that atleast. I worked last night so not sure how long I'll make it but we'll see. Havnt been out in 4 or 5 days so im just hoping I see a deer, not expecting much.
Very close to sleeping in this am, but figured why not give it another whirl. Got setup a little later than I’d like, but this setup feels right. Should be just off the trail I saw the deer using yesterday morning, and about 100 yards from where I saw that doe and basket bedded last night. We’ll see.
Not really in the mood to update. God only gives you so many opportunities at good bucks in a lifetime, and this year I have seemed to have fucked it up every single time. Going to leave it at that for now. Heading home to do some honey dos and pack for MI rifle.
Kept my streak alive this morning.

Crazy winds ain't gonna stop some lov'n. My #2 target is finally making daylight appearances. He's trying to keep an eye on that doe ....

I think the "defeated" feeling is a must for some of us. Between you, Jesse and myself I watch it happen every year. We put so much into it to only have it fall apart I one way or another. Then we rebound like F,ing men and it is so worth it! Embrace the suck. It is part of our process.
