Kid apparently thought it would be more fun making Christmas cookies with her cousins and sisters so I'm out solo where we coulda doubled on does last night. Any other year they'd been in trouble. We have a decent herd of does here behind my house and we're doing our part to hopefully keep it that way after this EHD mess. Not expecting much but sure as hell beats making cookies lol.

My wife was in a "mood" and the girls were also making cookies, so I bailed on them in favor of some peace and quiet. I'm in the "coyote corridor" looking for one of those while I enjoy the sounds of the creek below. Killed a bunch of yotes in this stretch of the holler and with video of a big one here over night, seemed like a good spot to chillax.

Ya...You would think I live somewhere in the great white north...and I do! Look the temp has risen to 7 degrees now. And to think a few days ago all the earlier snow had melted and this was about bare ground.

Kind of a frustrating night… had 5 does in front of us for about 30 minutes and right before dark 3 bucks take over the corn pile. Had this one in front of us as I dumped some more corn about 30 yards out in front of us and my boy froze… said he was nervous that he would miss and then said it was too dark and blurry in the scope. I asked him if he was comfortable taking the shot and he said no so ultimately that makes me happy that he didn’t rush. Hopefully tomorrow is the day
