LIVE from the stand 2025-26

He looks young. And if you didnt go, you wouldn't have been able to spread the word about having friends in buried places.
At this point, I'd rather see him in October than dead this season unless it's one of the girls. But I'd sure love to see him in person mostly because I'm convinced something is "off" with his health. It will be interesting to see if he sticks around and eventually looks healthy again.

IMG_20260104_173718822.webp beautiful evening. I lost track of time working on some electrical stuff didn't make it over until 4:45. Deer were already out just to the right of this lot upon arrival. Made the 1/2 mile jogish hustle in the ditch bottom to this same culvert from last night. Dry ditches are so amazing to get in unnoticed. Those unidentified deer fed out far enough get my wind but continued to feed. Basically after catching my breath and cooling off 5 antlersless came right at me on this field line straight from the woods. I didn't bother getting ready. Screenshot_20260104-183957.webppretty sure this is her and tiny fawn that coyotes have been chasing around multiple nights in this woods on my camera, or I assume it's her they are after. shes leading four fawns around (they were some of the deer out last night). She was going to cross this culvert but caught my wind at four or five steps. She bottled back for the woods but stopped in gun range along with the others 60-120 out. After they went off and stayed next to the woods feeding but heading the opposite direction of me I back tracked down the bottom to check an opposite woodlot edge/field I cant see from the middle of this section. Getting nearer to this wood lot I glance up to see a round pumpkin head of a button buck looking right at me through the grass on top of the ditch bank, I froze. Starring contest began, until I noticed a flash of rack to my left. So I crept up the ditch bank hammer cocked and ready surprised a little six pt about twenty yards away. He stopped under a hundred. Fun night not sure what I want to kill but none of them.

Boys night, Chris got here right after I shot mine, Cliff txt he shot one that went to the bottom of a strip pit holler. Chris and I saddled up and went helped him drag, and winch the big doe he shot up and hung in his barn. Took the entire lenght of winch ripe about 75° down to get her.
