I very seldom get winded in Ohio, but I mostly hunt high on ridges. Nc deer are alot more on edge than Ohio deer.

That's odd. Any idea why that'd be? Are y'all's hunting areas that pressured? That's about the only reason I would think of!
To be honest its night an day. The area I live an hunt in has a 3 month rifle season. An you are allowed to run them with dogs, that's a big thing here. Our deer almost never get a brake, dogs are trained in the summer months also. Don't get me wrong, a mature buck is hard to kill anywhere. But even on public land in Ohio, deer move totally different than deer in Nc.

Wow, it's tough being a deer in NC! Dogs definitely have a negative impact I'm sure! Here in Ohio over the years, when I was hunting and some asshat neighbor let their dogs run free it really fugged my hunting up! Can't imagine being in that environment!

Let it roll off your back and get back in kill mode buddy! They prolly heard or saw you going in and came to investigate and look for you......does like to do that you know! Mature bucks like to bust ass over to the next county! Lmao

GOOD LUCK THIS MORNING!!!

Cool pics!

Haven't hunted this farm for some time now, just got reacquainted with it about about a month and a half ago.... My first season hunting it I took a 6 point opening day and then the following Monday took a good size nanny doe.... Two mornings on stand and I was done for the season... Swore I'd never do that again, but if the chance arises I may just pull the trigger too fill two tags and save one for gun season...

Got any nice ones running around out there, got cameras up?

I have two potential shooters I've been glassing for about a month now, the odds are in their favor as of now but I'm sliding in Saturday afternoon and setting up an ambush that I hope works in my favor.... I walked the perimeter of inside of the property looking for potential places the first day I had permission and they're coming from a neighboring property too his alfalfa field and coming towards a finger that I plan on setting up on.....the only thing is I'm not quite sure if they'll get too my range in the process... I purposefully stayed as far back as I can and still get a decent view of them as I don't want them too get any inkling what's coming their way lol.... No cameras this year at all... One of the least intrusive years I've ever spent in prepping for season.....
