I went out. Didn't see shit.
I like the attitude! Get after it Rick. Agree it is a good feeling and a feeling where you want to kick yourself at the same time.
Went out with the Foxpro tonight. Got dark fast. Not much moon. No snow. Visibility got real bad real fast. Turned off the caller and listened more than I called. Heard some sticks snapping on occasion. Listened. Left caller off at this point. Movement kept getting closer. Couldn't see with naked eye. Pulled up the scope and could see dark animal moving around and closing in on me. Waited. Waited some more. Got to roughly 40yds. Had scope on the animal. My right thumb was on safety and finger on trigger guard. Left hand thumb lit up the Solarforce light and there it was. . . . A curious doe. I waited a few minutes. Turned on light again and she was still there. I simulated a deer blowing and she took off. I picked up the caller and went home. I'm not chancing a non-target hit. Not that I would ever shoot if I was unsure, but it had me wondering how many other critters I may have educated? Guess it is mornings, earlier in the evenings, or when we have some snow on the ground before I head out again.
Just had 8 bucks cross the driveway in front of me headed behind my house. 2 good ones in the group! I know what I'll be doing in the morning...

I doubt anything came by...my neck hurts and my throat feels like I was snoring hard. That cool crisps air put me out! That's the best sleep I've gotten in weeks. Gonna take a few days for my neck to recover though, damn camp chairs ain't made for sleeping.

That is exactly what happened! I never seen the sun come up. Was settled in before 0630 and thought I'd just close my eyes for a little bit...I'll wake up if I hear something... Son of a bitch, it's almost 10! I haven't slept in till 10 in a long long time.

Happens to us all man. When I was on 16 hour nights I spent more time asleep in the stand than awake. I used to work 3 straight nights in a row then haul tail 3 hours to ft benning to hunt as soon as I got relieved from my shift. Not saying it's safe or heathy but you can do it.
