No bloody hands tonight, but managed to get my adrenaline/heart pumping like crazy.

Never made it to a stand which was kind of the plan.

Watched 2 does on my way in that where about 80 yards away on the otherside of property line. Eventually they meanedered off the other direction. I advanced about 150 yards like a turtle until I got to this 5 gallon bucket i had hunted on earlier this season.

Was there for about 15 minutes and here pops out a big ole doe about 15 yards away. I should have let her have it immediately, but was busy making sure it was a doe and one I wanted to shoot. She was broadside for a moment.

2 more does pop out behind her and she starts walking directly at me. She gets to under 10 faceing me and starts acting funny. A couple stomps turned to head bobbing.

Gotta say, my heart rate was through the roof. Haven't hunted in a minute.

I'm waiting for her to give me a broadside angle thinking as soon as she did I'd snap shoot her.

Well, she turns at no more then 8 yards, I wiggle my toes to make sure I'm planted and go for the draw. I shit you not, she was long gone by the time I got the recurve to my anchor point. I was expecting her to 'freeze' for at least a couple seconds. Hell no, she was gone immediately.

Haven't been hunting to this spot or even back there to do anything in a good month. Good to see the deer are stacked in there. Thickest stuff around for a while.

That was a fun one. Think that's some gasoline on my fire to enjoy these last couple weeks of season

That's almost as good as dragging one out! Love those encounters. I'll be out in the AM for the first time in about a month and I've got the "night before opening morning" jitters lol. Hoping that the bucks that are grouped up and frequenting the corn pile follow script
