Was windy when walking in. Has calmed down significantly. Have seen two deer. One I believe to be a small buck, and a small 8.

3 does and a small 8 so far. I'm under dressed and have a bunch of shit to do today. May not last long this morning. Off the next 2 days and have the weekend, then I'm done for a while.

Wind is trying to pick up here. I'm perplexed on why I'm not seeing any normal doe movement. It's not like I'm having to walk into the woods & the deer becoming aware. Oh well , there's always this evening. I'm gonna quit & go enjoy the day. I'm still off tomorrow anyhow. Good luck to those staying put !

I froze out. That and the phone call asking for permission to proceed with $1K in repairs on the wife's ride was enough to piss me off to the point of being done!
Ouch. Tranny go out or something? Yeah, I think I would be done for the day after that kind of news.
Need I remind you ? that your car can break down anytime all thru 12 months, but the rut only comes once a year?

No, fingers crossed the tranny will last us until we sell it. Water pump, rear brakes and rotors, both front ball joint and both sway bar links. I'm no mechanic, so I don't work on my own vehicles. The local guy wouldn't do the water pump, so it is at the dealer. If I hadn't had it at the local guy for a day and the dealer for 2, I might buy the parts and get help to do it. I just want it done and done today. One of those things where you bend over, grab your ankles, grin and bare it...

He killed a 130" 9, nice deer. Just before I arrived at his farm I saw an absolute dandy taking a stroll across a hay field! Probably 160 or better. I'm still thinking tomorrow is going to be awesome, Thursday should be even better for activity. But, we'll all have to get up early to find out for sure!
Haven't seen jack squat since the two in the first 15 minutes. I figured I would have seen something else by now.
