Sitting on the ground tonight to get closer to where I keep seeing deer. Starting to wonder if I am too close to the trail and not hidden enough. Guess we will find out! Time to put the phone away and sit here like a statue for the last hour or so. Good luck everyone.

I got settled in at 3:45 and 2 yearlings plus the 5pt have been milling around for last 20mins. Big boy is on a 3 day cycle, last apperance was 11/18. Sure would be nice if he played his part and before dark!

I'm watching a farmer 250 yds east of me pick up bails of cornstalk. Enjoying the breeze, sunshine and show. Hope to see a deer.

3 doe hung around for the better part of an hour one was within 30 yards a few times... She was probably last years and on the small side...
All in all not a bad afternoon as I wasn't expecting anything till after shooting light....
Didn't see many of those lol... Lots of birds hitting the cut corn and corn piles...

One loaner doe. Thought it was going to get good as she was milling around and acting goofy all sit. Heard some deer running after dark.
I was only able to cruise tonight. Seen a legit Booner out with 2 Does where a buddy hunts. They've been telling me about him, well I finally seen him. Bases like the business end of a Louisville Slugger. Main frame 11 point with lots of Junk. Same area my buddy got the 190"er last year. Cruised by my main area that I sat last night and the big boy was a chip shot 20 yards away from my stand with some Does. Never got closer than 100 yards last night. Ugh

35-40 yards. I aimed for his heart and shot under him. He jerked his head up, looked around and took off.

I saw a possum, two squirrel, and at least a dozen deer. Some of the best rutting action I've seen this season I'll be back in there for the first couple hours of daylight.
I was shocked at how dead it was in the woods this weekend, hope next weekend and gun season pick up.
