Decided to "hunt" here at this house this morning so we could get some meat. Waiting for my daughter to wake up and help recover the doe I shot a few minutes ago. Excited to let my new pup follow the trail as well.

Sometimes they just look bigger compared to the one they are running with.

Was really comparing her to the barrel which is 41" tall.

It's a big doe for sure, but they get bigger. The one I missed yesterday is another year or two older than the next biggest, which is about like the one you posted. Biggest one I've seen in 20+ years of hunting. She looked like a 4.5 year old buck that had shed. Those types of does make as good a trophy, or more so in some cases, than a similar age class buck. Old nanny does are a special animal.

Sometimes those big ole nanny swamp donkeys are harder to get than a mature buck,
Don.t like having them around. Dificult to get with a bow.

I heard a story about a guy that took a dump in the woods, went to flip his overalls back up and wham!! Right in the back of his head a fresh hot pile of crap. He didn't get the overalls out of the way and took a dump right on them.
