Lost confidence...

One of the cams is wobbling. Bolt is coming off the rail at a weird angle. These are only $270 new...probably just buy another exactly the same and have one for parts. That'll get me by and the kids will still be able to play.

You need to get ahold of that guy in Cincinnatti. If you get that killer instinct and do not like it, I'll buy it. That is how sure I am. And it will be a better bow than a Barnett. They are disposables. You have to work them people on craigslist.

I looked for it and couldn't find it. I'll look again.

513-365-3626 That number is for the Killer Instinct in Cincinnatti. He wants 300 and that is fair. Offer him 250. tell him that's all you got. You get it and don't like it, I promise I will take it.
If he won't take the 250. hit him with your purse! Pussy! rotflmao

I'm not a crossbow guy but I did work at TenPoint for a small period of time. Any bows that are made there are awesome but the Horton storm is probably the coolest crossbow I've ever shot. The balance is awesome because the riser being in the middle of the bow doesn't make it so front end heavy. It's ridiculously fast and you can stack arrows on top of each other like no other crossbow I've ever shot. Just go hold one if you haven't checked them out yet. They're worth a look.

Speed vs. KE

I'm thinking with my poor choices here lately about going to throwing a butcher knife style head. To do that I need the more KE...? Right?

My thoughts on this are kinda along the lines of a needle in your arm. It doesn't take much effort to push it through (unless you hit bone) but if you try to push a broomstick through, your gonna need a lot more power. Not speed, power. Am I in the right track here?

Sorry for the delay, Rick. Trying to not make an emotional decision here.

Very happy with the KI I bought for my daughter. I would recommend.

This shouldn't even be a question any more.. Pretty much all of todays bows/crossbows produce more than enough KE to shoot any broadhead/axe/butcher knife you want.

I noticed that, seems every article I read has numbers way higher than I remember. Doesn't seem like you are losing much with lighter arrows either. I guess I'm way out of the loop. Maybe that's another problem with my confidence level, I don't know the equipment anymore...

I think you are right. I know what happened both times now. Both times it was my fault and not the equipment. I need to pick and choose my shots better. End of story
Yea, I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound, but it is what it is. Sometimes shit happens and we make bad shots. Unfortuanately that's part of bow hunting. Just gotta get over it and move on. Changing arrows or broadheads likely won't make a difference. Actually it would probably just hurt your confidence even more.

We're on the same page this season. The only change I'm making is a bigger cutting diameter broadhead. Going back to an old familiar friend. I don't have confidence in the Montecs to help me when I mess up. Other heads offer that peace of mind. Had I been shooting a 2" cut head on Friday, chances are the ink is dry on my buck tag. But of course, had I done my job, it's be filled out too...

Yeah...my bow is a bit wobbly on the wheels. So I need to change a bit more then just the tip. Trying to figure out what a "reasonable" amount of money to spend is.
