Made in China vs USA.

This is an interesting read: https://www.intouch-quality.com/blo...actories-dont-only-make-poor-quality-products

It's basically saying low quality products coming from China is driven by demands for lower prices by importers, not because Chinese factories are incapable of making quality products.

This is very true. We have a wide range of components that are plastic, metal, die cast, specific A surface finishes, etc. Once a vendor is quality certified (5 random shipments chosen for 100% inspection), their parts pass through. Regarding quality, you pay up front in the name of quality control, or on the back end with quality assurance. All part of a products risk design based on D/PFMEA. I have always been impressed with their 8D/5Why/A3 responses and timing to implement both soft and hard countermeasures to ensure quality. Plenty of low quality Chinese junk out there, but they can also maintain great quality within the realm of SPC that many American vendors struggle with.

America created a beast over the last 30 yrs. Their ability to keep costs down and still produce a quality product is impressive. Going to be hard to break any real dependence on a short time.

Look forward to seeing the finished product Joe.

Great article. That's kind of what we've found on our research also. They are capable of producing quality goods but it's the importers demanding the biggest margins that force them to lower quality. I don't blame consumers for demanding lower prices as let's face it there is plenty of meat on the bone to maintain a healthy margin while delivering a quality product at a low price.
