Maple Syrup Making

Didn't see a thread for this.
We have been making our own for years, but when we move to Ohio we will have only 1 tree to tap.
Right now we are waiting for the February thaw to set out taps and buckets, and get our boiling operation up and running. Last year we made about 2 gallons, all for personal use. Our whole family is spoiled now - Mrs. Butterworth's just doesn't cut it anymore.

Wife says she's taking the year off from this chore. I may do some by myself, depends on what the weather is like when I get home from pig hunting in mid February.

@Ohiosam has been doing maple syrup for a few years now.
I collect sap and take it to a neighbor that has state of the art equipment to boil and bottle. He boils for the 1/2. Last year I tapped about 200 trees (all buckets) and that made 50 gallon, so my half was 25. This year I'm running some tubing in a part of my woods that's too far to carry buckets to get another 50 -75 trees.
