Always descent shows, does seem alot more commercialized the last couple of years but i get it,ya gotta pay the bills.
Winke is a walking billboard with all his little hat emblems..
I quit watching outdoor shows several years ago except for Midwest Whitetails and the Chasing November series.

I watched the 2nd Slunger Hollow videos last night. Those guys would get butchered on social media today for that video, but it's real, raw and authentic as it gets. Probably my favorite video of all time because of that. Shame that train derailed.

Is it just me or has Winke's farm not produced the kind of giants it used to produce? Seems like since the year he killed Split G4 and that huge 10 the same year, it just hasn't been the same (Booner wise). He's still seeing big deer, just not "oh my God" big deer. Wonder if EHD had that big of an impact on his deer? Or just a "down" cycle. Most of his target deer lately seem to be sub-150 to my eyes.

I noticed that too as I just finished episode 13 last night. He has some good deer, but definitely not like the first couple of seasons.

Also true, but his home acreage and surrounding farms always produced better quality, consistently. Could be coincidence. Merely an observation that a few picked up on.

So we should shoot the little bucks and let the old large ones walk, right? :):)
Lol, just provoking thought. I think it’s possible to kill the genes out of an area. It’s what we do as hunters...try and get the most perfect specimen and kill him in his prime. Then we repeat that process over and over. No one wants to kill that 110” 10 point that’s 5.5 years old when they have a 160” 4.5 year old walking around. It’s just not how we work.

My 2008 season. Chasing 180+, killed 110. Wasn't by choice however. But... I haven't had a giant to chase since then either. I've been waiting a decade to see another buck of that caliber to no avail. He was just an anomaly I guess.
