I just finished this for a guy at work. Its a MW Western Field Deluxe (Western Arms/Ithaca) from 1930. The forend wood was cracked and the forend iron was broken so I made a new forend out of walnut and had the forend tang welded . The recoil pad was melted and half gone and I couldn't locate an exact replacement so the slip on will work and it fits like a glove. I stripped the stock and refinished it and it matches the new forend. The action was degreased and oiled and it's really smooth now. It all came together nicely. I wish it was mine.
