Now that reminds me. I had this debate with myself before buying and ended up going with the 430 for two reasons. The 430 has an engine driven centrifugal pump for liquids but the 450 is gravity fed. The pump is critical for vertical spray height when pointing the nozzle up to reach up in the trees or eaves and soffits. With the gravity fed 450 the spray will stop if the nozzle end is elevated above tank height. I also read that a bunch of people were having problems with the tank leaking because it has to be removed and turned around for granules and then back for liquids. Eventually the tank-to-body seal leaks. I went ahead and decided that any herbicide or fert I may want to use is usually also sold in liquid concentrate form. For anything else like a seed or time-released weed and feed I bought a good drop spreader.

Makes sense! Sounds like the 430 is the better option for liquids only. I didn’t realize they had different mechanical functions.

It can. And you can get the coned tip for it like regular blowers have. I just used the straight pipe and it works great.

For the honeysuckle, you'd have to have an herbicide that targets just that species. The most blower will blow a cloud of mist. You could apply pesticide or herbicide to multiple acres pretty quickly with that thing.

I wouldn't care to start over in my woods. All the undergrowth is honeysuckle and buckeye trees.

Yeah, it would work with the right herbicide. Wouldn't last very long before refilling but im sure it would serve the use of a homeowner just fine.

Lots of Stihl products sold out and can't even get them on backorder right now. No clue if this is one of them or not. Im looking at Echo products moving forward if Stihl can't keep up.

I've never wanted to pay for the name. But I'm interested in this idea. Still not sure it's worth the cost. Trying to justify it for other uses and still falling short.

You'd be surprised. Since it's a mist it lasts a long time depending on the spray nozzle size. With about half a tank I can spray my acre which is about 35 big oak trees spraying 30 feet up, all the landscape bushes around the perimeter of the house, the woodline along the back fence, and still have a lot left to run around and spray over the back fence to fog the woods. With it being an air-blown mist the coverage on the target vegetation is great vs a traditional wet spray that saturates where it hits and most of it runs off. If you were spraying a flat ground area like say fungicide on a crop I bet you could spray about 2 acres before refilling, depending on the nozzle size.
