Hmmmm, so maybe the company might be based in Arizona but the product is made somewhere else...

They make a number of brands, including this small, inexpensive grill under the Pit Bossname. They manufacturer in both Canada and China. The Pit Boss 700SC, being one of the least expensive pellet grills they make, is produced in China.

Awesome, once again, I’m late to my own game. 😔

Yes thats all true but tell me how a minimun wage worker can live - uhm still kinda stuck back in the day when Americans could earn a living wage with mostly one wage earner in the family - shit now their offering 7 year car financing

They're not supposed to. Those aren't lifelong careers they're jobs. People aren't supposed to be a fry cook at McDonald for 10 years. They're supposed to move up to shift supervisor, manager, general manager and up. Or work towards obtaining a better position with another company. People should build on their experience and strive to make themselves better. That's how a society and nation betters themselves. If they're complacent earning minimum wage and being a fry cook for 20 years, then they have no room to complain that there owed more.

Then can work minimum wage and collect government assistance. Eat steaks every weekend while the working man struggles to buy more than cup o noodles.

That's the other thing - what does everyone think about franken-companies that are geo located in the states but have parts made or units assembled in China or other countries? Do you support them?

I watch a lot of popular welding channels on youtube and one of the units I see a lot of are Everlast welders which happens to be the brand I ended up going with for my welder. I assumed it was American made (bought from an American company with a sales, tech and shipping department, good warranty, has street cred., etc).

From Everlast website:

Another distinctive feature you'll notice about our company is our lean operating business model. We manufacture our product in modern, off-shore facilities using name brand, off-the-shelf electronic components such as Infineon, Siemens, Texas Instruments, IXYS, Intersys, International Rectifier, Toshiba, Sharp, Panasonic and others
. This results in a lower purchase price for you, the customer. However, we feel it doesn't affect our ability to provide reliable products and customer support because the company itself, the inventory, customer support and product service are all fully based and staffed right here in the United States. It's true, many of the old welder companies based in the U.S.A now use at least some model of off-shore manufacturing. We don't claim this is a new idea, as this method of manufacture is being adopted and expanded by all of the United States based welder manufacturers.

Is that last sentence true? All US based welding manufacturers are doing the same thing?

All this has me confused, honestly. I opened a can that I can’t handle. It seems everything somehow leads in a circle. At some point, everything leads back to some other country. Enough to piss a guy off when reading labels.

That’s because we have laws that allow people too skew the fact that they’re made off shore. Made in America with globally sourced material or made in north America. Buyer beware, do your homework like you would for anything else.

Like I said. America was built on the exploration of cheap labor. Africans, Chinese railroad builders, Italians, the Irish and so on. We still do it today with illegal Mexicans. When all of that was outlawed through various labor laws and Osha rules we looked elsewhere for our cheap labor.

@Blan37 asking me about my beer in the dinner thread got my brain turning about this thread. I just figured everyone knew about Busch Light doing the corn can for American farmers. As if only using American grown corn wasn’t American enough, now they’re donating $1 from every 30 pack of Busch Light sold to an American farmers fund.

Marketing at its best! They’ve managed to capture the American people movement on buying local and the donation trend right now. I always thought they had it figured out with the hunting season cans but this is pure gold.

They are all owned by In Bev, which is not American. Bud light throws a rock at glass house with Miller and Coors inside in their rooms. Meanwhile, Busch sitting in the same house said, "Hey!, Look at me, I'll support farmers since I use corn syrup too!"

Anheuser-Busch and Molson Coors = AB In Bev....sisters since 2016.

And Giles, true story, my brother is technically part of a American rice farmer lol. But, my beers like American corn, barley and hops!
