Snuck back to the pond for another hour...hehe. My neighbor said "You're late" when I arrived. I guess he's come to expect me between shifts. More of the same, bluegills, crappie, and a couple of largemouth. The fishing was a little slower, or I should say the catching. Wind had the pond pretty rippled up and it was hard to tell when I got a strike. When the wind would lay down for a few, I'd hook several and then the ripples would make it tough again. Still, the MULLZBUGZ work.

Start posting pics! I may not get out at all for the next few days and will need to see something on a hook! I really need to mow the yard in my couple hours of "free time" tomorrow, and Fridays are just nuts in the pizza world...may not get back out for a spell....or the grass may get mighty tall.:)

I thought you were married AND had kids? I see you as about 4th in line for mowing...

Ha! I let her mow, I have to fix something on the JD. I let Mason mow...well, I don't know about that yet. My daughter is a whiny-indoor type.

Snuck out for an hour in this heat this afternoon. Got 4 largemouth, 6 crappie, and two bluegills. Ordered another fly rod yesterday too. Can't wait to throw some of the bigger bass bugs!

J - Andy just told me about another leader type that I must try. Apparently, you tie this on, and then add a short length of flourocarbon. The FC sinks and will get your sinking flies down to depth a little quicker. It eliminates the need for a tapered leader. Gonna have to order some.

Caught a bunch of panfish this evening. Crappie, hybrid bluegills and sunfish. I forgot how much fun this was.

I figured the flourocarbon would be the way too go.... Love that line have had real good luck in clear water with it as it doesn't spook the fish..... Let me know how it works out for you Brock......

I don't know how I ever forgot how much I enjoyed it...but I'm glad to have another outdoor hobby. You can't have too many.

Let's change this thread to "fly fishing"?
I had a great time a little bit ago. I fished a small lake in a sub-division. The bluegills were on beds and I caught countless Bulls and a bunch of smaller bass. I used a small nymph on a my #6. Thanks for the inspiration, Brock!

Very nice, Mike! Glad you got out and caught some. I ordered an 8#, 9' from Cabelas bargain basement the other day. UPS showed up with it this morning. Heck of a deal. Anyway, I didn't fly fish much over the weekend, but had to give the new rod a try. I caught 3 largemouth this afternoon. My neighbor said I should start putting a little oral-jel on my flies, he seems to think we've stuck a bunch of 'em lately. :) The three I caught today were average size, but I had two really nice ones miss the bug. I was throwing some huge flies that Andy had sent me and I think they well work well given a little better weather.

Good deal, Hunter!

I got my new rig in the other day. I've only had it out once. Caught three largemouth on some big Mullzbugz. I thought that was pretty good for being in the middle of the day and around 90.

I've been wanting to hit the creek with the MULLZBUGZ. My daughter wanted to fish yesterday, but didn't want to go to the creek, so Mason and I decided to hit a hole for an hour or so before heading home to get the boat and my daughter. We only fished one hole, and it typically doesn't hold big fish due to being fairly easy to access. We caught a little of everything... Largemouth, smallmouth, white bass, bluegill, rock bass, crappie, and even a channel catfish. Every fish we caught was about the size of a brookie, but they were fish.

Ran to the creek today after lunch. No smallies, but I did get white bass, crappies, longear sunfish (rare around here), bluegills, and a couple of largemouth. The creek is looking really good. The DOW shut off all road access to this stretch so there are no longer bait containers or old refridgerators laying around. Ya gotta walk to get there, but it's worth it!
