I'm really looking forward to ML season for a change. The last couple years I shot a deer during gun season and all I really wanted was one deer so I didn't go out (plus both those deer were shot with my ML so ML didn't seem so special). But this year we came really close to running out of venison. Couple that with an upward turn in the deer population on our farm and thus an increase in crop damage and I think I need to try and take a doe (I already shot a buck during the gun season). Last night I glassed the neighbor's field across the road as it was getting dark. Snow cover makes it nice for counting silhouettes. There were 8 deer across the road. Then I turned around 180 degrees and glassed my field behind my house. There were 10 deer out there. Seems like there are a few left overs from gun season. They are starting to calm down and move more like the pre-gun season days. Yep, I'm looking forward to ML this January.
