Finally got out to the gravel pit tonight to drop the hammer on some doves. I got set up right after work... one mojo dove and six decoys scattered out around it on the ground. This setup has worked awesome for me for the last two seasons, and tonight was no different. The birds were transitioning between a cut stubble field and a pond, over to me up on the hill to get some grit. At one time, I had a group of about a dozen come in... I let half of them land before pulling the trigger... got a double out of that group. All in all, it was a great hunt. 15 doves and only burned up 29 shells. Definitely felt good to get back to whackin' and stackin' again.
