had a doe blow at me 20 yards away trotted off ten minutes later she directly under me eating acorns so i dont know if she was blowing at me or not.
Never had this happen before, ever!

Last weekend we had a doe blow at a buck. I actually posted a video a few minutes ago. You can't hear her blow on the video but she blew 3 times. You can see her reaction to the small buck though

I didn't even think of that. I wonder if she was blowing at the buck or at least the does who came in later were. Trying to push him off their acorns and such. I was down wind of these deer and fairly far from them so I don't think they saw me. It was also almost dark

Chalk it up to big ole weery alpha doe 1 - Albert 0 prolly as tough to beat as a fully mature buck sporting a 200" rack!
Witnessed a mamma doe actually chase a cat around a field until it jumped up on the round bails that were there..... If those bails weren't there she'd of caught that cat and stomped the crap outta it....

My first "successful" experience with smoking up was where I sat on the ground and had a big doe and her fawn walk 10 yards away directly downwind of me. She blew several times and paced back and forth until she just decided what she was smelling was not going to hurt her and they moseyed on to about 40 yards where they bedded down. My very first experience with a deer downwind was a spike that was coming my way from directly downwind. At maybe 40-50 yards he stopped and kept throwing his head in the air. Soon he blew several times. There were deer out in the field already and they paid no attention to him at all for the most part. He blew several more times before turning and headed over to the other deer in the field to eat. Even though he changed the direction he was headed he didn't get spooked enough to go blowing the rest of the deer off that field so I still considered that as a success somewhat.

I have been dead down wind, on the ground from a group of doe and never got busted, they never turned their nose up, and it was blowing right in their face....Im a believer
This is also the time of year that moms starts to run her buttons off. Just had one doing this in my back yard. Blowing, stomping, and chasing off a BB. Not sure if it was hers or not? But she was sure pissed off at it. I'd imagine if it came back around shed be acting like you explained. (my phones upstairs or I would've tried to get it on video)
I TOO believe it could have been a number of different things..... I don't believe it was the smoker.

Well I think I might have figured this out. I think something on my boots ain't right. I had a doe this am come down wind. Take a big wiff of smoke and stay calm.
But man when she hit my track. She turned and trotted other direction after a few minutes of sniffing.
She never blew but she didn't like the smell of that boot.
Time to bust out the rubbers.

I used to hate that smell. If I want to smell burning rubber, I will go to the burnout contest.
