After seeing what a rifled lead slug did to the doe I shot this year, I don't think there's much need for anything beyond a hunk of lead.
I wonder - would those even be legal in Ohio for deer? Regulations don't say anything about lead or steel, just 'rifled slug or ball':
"Shotgun: 10 gauge or smaller shotgun using one ball or one rifled slug per barrel (rifled shotgun barrels are permitted when using shotgun slug ammunition)."

I'm with Lundy. I wouldn't want to try it on a deer. I'd love to see what it would do to a coyote, though.
