Sucks buddy. Really sucks. But the reality is, shit happens. That's why they have a warranty. Like the other guys said as long as it's being replaced with a brand-new transmission I think it's pretty reasonable. As for the new versus repaired vehicle. It is still a new vehicle, and now even has a new transmission. Sounds new to me. A transmission swap is not going to harm the resell value of your vehicle. Not that you need to be worried about resale for a while, you bought a domestic vehicle brand-new. It'll lose 20% value in the first year anyway. Try to get some floor mats or something out of them and call it even.

Wife's Dad has a 2 year old F-150 that is puking transmission fluid. It is in the shop right now. Shit happens, especially with a Ford or Toyota ;)

Hope they take care of you with this. Sure warranties are there and all but when a major part, engine or transmission, goes with so little mileage it sure would upset me especially if I was buying it and planning to keep it for many years. A much as I can understand some of the other opinions I'd be pretty pissed off. If it were a lease I'd say fix it and give me a ride in the meantime.

i understand why you want a new one, but I doubt they'll do it. But if you push should be able to get an extended warranty on the drive train. That would seem doable
