No shooters known in your area. . . What do you do?

Yep go hunt. First two sits I was in the stand this year there was nothing at all on cam I really wanted to shoot. But I had to be in stand for me. I don't care if I'm burning the stand and pressuring the area either. I really dont think I am but I know some think it's the worst thing one can do like prepping then hunting soon or days after.
Myself I will shoot what I like. I will shoot an exceptional deer that is young and I will shoot a mediocre deer that is mature. But I wont shoot a young mediocre deer.

That being said, I hunt deer for the time spent in the woods and for meat.
IF I waited for a 120+ in my neck of the woods, I would never have killed a deer.

Thank you. I was posting to make people think. I have my plan in place. It is similar to what you said. If I eat a tag. . . So be it. It happens. I've been fortunate enough in recent years. Just saying, there are a lot of people who are drawing straws and might take advantage of a thread like this.

This! My hunting got a lot more fun when I ditched the cams. And now that I’m strictly public I love the not knowing. If a forkie trips my trigger in the moment, he’s getting it. Of course, my luck I’ll do that and have a booner show up and watch me drag it out

Have ya looked around, Philbert? There's hunting talk in every corner of this place. Apparently I've missed the whack off in the woods thread though. I definitely have some thought provoking statements for that when I find it. It's not as easy as it sounds...

Your attempt to get us to commiserate with your situation, one that's enviable to many of our members (at least one mature, P&Y quality buck), is certainly thought provoking. Especially your attempt to convince us you aren't complaining. The thought that statement provoked was "he sure sounds like he's complaining".

Next time I'm asked to conjure up a little compassion to compliment your complaining, I'll put a little more thought into it.
