Humorous anecdote about a TV like that. I went to Muskingum College early 2000s, wet campus, dry town. You were only allowed so much alcohol per of age person in the room. They have these condos for groups of older students. I brought one if those styled tvs down and it broke within a month. We cut the back of the vacuum tube off, took the back and other insides out except the radio and used it as a hidden in plain liquor cabinet (liquor was NOT allowed on campus). One night residence life comes through making rounds looking for contraband and he literally sits on it and comments on how his parents have a similar one at home. We laughed our asses off once he left.
