I don't remember seeing those "hornets" before, but this year, I've seen an ungodly amount of them on the apples we've been picking up!

I saw them on the apples a bunch as well. They sure look mean but they really weren't aggressive while I was picking them off the ground or out of the trees. Maybe because they were drunk in apple heaven at the time. I dunno.

Those are most definitely " Bald Faced Hornets". Rotten bastards get drunk on the fermented apples. Lol I've seen them on their sides spinning in circles, unable to fly.
