Brock and Ric, you'll never really be ready but you can be prepared.... We were prepared just not ready..... The wives will be the ones who have the hardest time with it.... When I took our son up too drop him off for the ride too Cleveland I asked him if he wanted his mom too come along and he was pretty sure it was a no.... She'd be crying the whole time and he really didn't need that at that time.... It was hard enough for me to choke back the emotions and the other father who's son went up with Ryan also was in tears and his oldest has been in for 7 years.... One of the hardest things you'll ever do leaving your child in the hands of life......

The cell phone went off at 1:12 this morning and it was Ryan reading a script that they give them about how they made it in one piece and all is good and not too try and contact him during training hahaha.... I need too have a talk with the BMT instructors hahahaha..... It's nice out ranking those kids by 25 years hahahaha..... Oh well it's a thought but I would never draw attention too my Son like that lol.....

Very cool J. Tell your son Thank you & We appreciate his service! Definitely sounds like you & the wife have raised some great young adults (since they're not kids anymore). Now enjoy you time in the field, you deserve it!!

If you ever yelled at your kid and taught him any kind of responsibility he will be fine. Its the kids whos parents babied them and never made them lift a finger are the ones who crumble. I had fun in basic, thought it was easy. Whats not easy about folding your clothes, making your bed, and following directions? I couldn't believe the kids who cried, and wanted to go home, and caused all kinds of commotion.

sure you get yelled at, try not to laugh and listen to the DIs (forget their actual name) and its cake

Mine acted like major payne from the movie, he was hillarious!! 6'3" 250lb black dude who was rock solid with muscle...

Good luck to your son j. What afsc is he going into?. Beast week was pretty fun but it could be better.

Open Medical so far..... They had noe specific openings when he left... He's hoping to get into Physical Therapy Tech.... We'll see how that works out.... He is color difficient so jobs are limited.... Most jobs require color vision so he only had a handfull to choose from....

Yeah that's what my son said :smiley_crocodile:

See I think thats crap. Just cause I cant see those numbers doesnt mean I cant tell the difference between a road and a river or creek on a map. I think they sould field test guys like us depending on what theywant to get into. No reason why I couldnt have gone in tothe field that I wanted. Stupid Cards
