I'm in different region than you. In my area, 99% of the time I would guess that deer is 2.5

This deer came from right on the edge of farm and big woods. More big woods.

@giles Actually, looking at it again, that 3rd premolar doesn’t appear as stained as I originally thought. It’s very possible this buck could be a tweener... meaning he lost his baby tooth well before most “normal” yearlings. This happens when a fawn is born early, and they’re a bit ahead of other members of their cohort. Rinse it off if you can and take a couple more pics.

It's just nice to take some of the guessing out of things. I wouldn't change the outcome of this hunt ever! Just peaked my interest while I was skinning the head. Just an odd deer from no brow tines, bladed main beam and overall shape and size of his body. Not at all your standard. I would also guess that I'm really torn because the only time I seen his body he was 400+ yards away. Other than that it was flashes of him or just his head.

Looks like some of you guys know your stuff. I got a doe I was wondering the age on. She dressed 165 lbs, my biggest ever.
