I'll be in Cape Hatteras for week# 2 in June. I typically fish the surf with little success. Anyone have any positive charter contacts/referrals in Cape Hatteras area? I'd like to put my son on some inshore Cobia.

I surf fish that area every fall. You are going at a rough time for crowds and good fishing. Still beats the hell out of most other beaches though due to lack of development or chain stores. There should be pompano, Spanish and mullet in the surf. Of course sharks as well. Likely not many big drum that time of year. If you are interested in kayak fishing i can hook you up with the best guide in that area. Hes a little farther north around Kitty Hawk but its worth the drive. Can't help you on any offshore stuff. We went with Hitman charters out of Wanchese marina and we had an excellent time last year to the point where we are booked to go back on June 1st of this year. The captain and first mate were great as they put us on the fish and the boat was clean as well as reasonably priced as expected.
