I tagged along with a young lady this morning. She’s been having a rough season. Hadn’t seen a bird. Windy conditions and we heard nothing on the roost. Settled into a good hiding spot and set out some decoys. Started calling. Heard a bird finally. Two longbeards came in, put on a great show, and she knocked one flat. Her gun jammed! The flopping bird got on his feet and got away! I took the drone over after our ground search but never did find him. I can’t believe she rolled him over only to watch him run off!
She is going back out in the morning. If she doesn’t fill her tag we will give it a go again Monday or Tuesday. I’m heading to Kentucky in the morning for a quick hunt.

Mad respect for you helping others trying to tag out on your property especially youngins. That's just , well awesome no other way to put it. Thank you for doing what you do man!

Had a good time this morning. Been working a shut down at my plant last two weeks so only made it out couple hours since the opener. Found a hot bird by himself in a fairly normal spot for them to roost. Made two moves on him over a 15 minute period. A few soft calls and leaf scratching and he came gobbling and strutting. I tried to coax him in closer and he got spooky after not seeing a hen. Folded him at 45yds.

Day 2 of vacation. Actually got to hear some gobbling this morning. Had 2 roosted on the same ridge I was on maybe 150 yrds . But as turkeys do , they pitched across the ravine from me and gobbled made a small move . The last time I heard a gobble was at 8, nothing since . I'm bored thinking of heading to the truck .

Welp had a chance an blew it by being patient...that doesnt happen very often. Anyhow finally had the Tom that's been cooped up with hens the last two weeks come within 35 yards. Was coming straight down the path to my decoy instead of swinging the gun over I opted to wait until he crossed in my guns sights ... only needed to go less than 10 yards but when he seen my decoy he froze and dipped behind some trees and hopped into the field behind the brush line and stayed there at 60 yards gobbling his head off for another half hour. The Jake that followed him in played the cards perfect and went and hung out with my decoy the whole time I should've just shot the dang Jake and called it a season. Left the woods early and decided to work on stuff at home

I’ve had birds on state land close last two days, I think I’ll have them figured out if another hunter doesn’t try to be like hunting public guys

I hunted Kentucky today with a good friend. We covered an immense amount of ground on a very high ridge system. We never heard a bird. Mason and his pal hunted a different WMA and were in ‘em all day long but never got a shot.

Day 3 . Heard 1 had him across the ravine from me . Gave him the sexiest call I got , he ended up heading towards my truck gobbled maybe 3 times on the ground so assume he had hens with him . I think some one on here said turkeys are stupid, I think Im stupid for putting my self through this every year lol ....

Giles can't stay off the turkey hunting treads. It's like he wants to be a turkey hunter so bad . I'm sure he could be successful if he would just get rid of that cursed 870 he owns

Day 4 . Sorry for the late notice but I've been celebrating with some Busch light and mix drinks . Since there was chance of rain this morning I decided to take the chair blind out to a open field. Well the morning brought no gobbles on the roost ,but that's ok I know this has been a good spot later in the morning. So I called every 30 min with no response. Well at 815 I yelped ....no response , so decided to eat left over sausage from the night before, by the time I get one bit eat there's a jake in my decoy , then 3 . If u ever been in a chair blind theres not much room to have the gun ready so its between my legs straight up . There putting on a show , half strut & gobbling. Well they do there thing walk off gobbling, so theres my chance . I get ready call them back and bang. When I get up to my turkey I see it's a double bearded jake

Day 5 .. took dad out and didn't hear see a dam thing . Now its 84 degrees and the beer is going down good.
