I want to believe it's a coon, the tail is odd though....

That's what I'm thinking, but I didn't want to be the first to say it. Those back legs point in that direction.

Looks like a coon with a bob tail. I've killed several with short tails over the years. I don't know if its a mutation or they get caught by coyotes or why but I've seen it several times. A guy also told me a lot of coon that live in tiles rub their hair off the end of the tail in return becomes frost bit and they end up chewing their tail off just like they do with their foot if left it a trap too long.

If it's a coon, & I'm logically thinking it is, I'm wondering why the back legs don't have any more hair. Maybe it's just an optical illusion, but I enlarged the pic & it's just odd.
