Sorry man.
It’s all good. Time heals everything. It’s been a year and a couple of days. The new dumbass is starting to learn a little. Anyone that’s ever had “the best dog ever” knows they break the mold. It’s been a struggle trying to deal with that. Tanner boy was no dumbass, nor was he crazy smart. Idk, still a little hope for the new one. I still miss this black bastard though. 😂

Sorry Dave. Old dogs are truly special. Timber is coming up on 12 this January. He's still got all the drive in the world to get out there and go, but his body can't keep up with his mind. He still wants to jump into the backseat of the truck without my help, but he also accepts my assistance when I catch his back legs and guide him in safely. He's probably 90% deaf, or has gotten REALLY good at ignoring me. His vision is starting to go a bit too, although to what extent, I'm not sure. I just keep taking him out with me, watching him closely to make sure he doesn't hurt himself. He's happy to go along too, even if it's a struggle for him at times. There's no place he'd rather be, than outside, just hunting.
