Just got a call from the farmer, he's shelling corn where I'm taking my daughter in an hour. He said they got a hot doe running with three bucks in tow. Hoping the action keeps up.

At 8:30 I had a squirrel start barking alarm. Looked to the east and at the property line fence about 60 yds. stands the same 8 pt. I busted out yesterday. He kept looking to the NW and finally crossed the fence and just kept staring NW and I couldn't see over there. He never looked my way. After 5 minutes he went back across the fence and ran off. Grunted but he wouldn't turn back.
At 11:15 I have a deer across the way about 75 yrs. It picked it's head up and it's the same forkhorn I seen yesterday. Each side at least 12-14 in. and are really heavy. Strange antlers as i didn't see any kickers just a single heavy spike but he did't seem that young. Should be a nice one next year.
11:50 it started raining pretty hard and I planned on going at noon anyway to shoot my bow since I moved the sight pins last nite.
Walking out I notice my golfcart tracks from Thursday look awful fresh. It must be the rain. I get 1/2 way back and the owners daughter comes flying by me in her blue Chevy. She wasn't parked on the runway so she must have been pulled off in one of the mowed paths. Wonder what she was doing?
I wonder if when she came back is the reason the spike left in a hurry. I can't see the other end of the runway from my blind. I will talk to the owner.
Didn't see one doe.

Saw a total of 11 deer this morning. 3 being bucks. 2 where basket 8s and was was a spike with a kicker. I don't think the switch has been flipped here yet but it is getting close from what o saw this morning.

Just seen 2 this morning... Pretty dead out there. Hung a double set with BIL and he whiffed a BB at 30 yards. Was planning on filming but left the damn SD card in my truck... Camera had no internal memory:(. Oh well, next time

Judging from what I have seen the last week and a half....I think there is already some lock down happening around me.....Had a local doe MIA for almost 4 days....Showed back up yesterday.....DUring the same time span a particular buck I know dissapeared also...He also appeared again. THe last three sets I have seen lots of fawns with no mammas... Granted this is at two farms relatively close to one another.... Im not saying this is happening everywhere...but I deff. think it is happening in my area a little...

Im not sure what to think here Wednesday and Thursday seen some mature deer cruising. Yesterday and today small bucks chasing young doe. Did see one possible shooter today. Something was just different about Wednesday and Thursday.

out from sunrise to about one oclock in warren county.had one come in behind my stand making a lot of noise but never got to see it. Tried to slowly turn but it spooked and took a couple bounces then walked off. Not sure but sounded like it may have been tearing up a tree with the noise it was making. bout 10 30 saw a small racked buck cross a beanfield. Couple does were in field he went past. Saw nice deer when pulling into the edge of bean field before daylight. had 97 pics on the cameras last 4 days....couple dozen doe shots, a lot with a small buck following couple minutes later. One 8 about 100". No real players moving behind does yet. lots of scrapes etc but maybe week early round here.....

Had a 140" or better 10 point lock up at 60 yards. He was following a 5 hour old doe trail and when he hit the edge of the field, he stopped, sniffed around and turn right around. No calling could coax him back.

Worst part is the wind switched to the worst possible direction for that stand. I trust in the power of smoke, but I still don't tempt fate. I climbed down and moved to my blind in the bottom. The does are always down here. Hopefully they show tonight and bring a boyfriend!

I had 3 doe fawns come in just now. Two were running together and the other was solo. Same ones I've seen all fall with their mommas...

Ive seen 13 different bucks since Thursday evening. Biggest was a hog trailing a doe 150 yards away this morning. Id guess 150" through the binos give or take a bit. Ive called six of those insideof ten yards. The biggest a 120" HEAVY 2.5 yr old eight point. Biggiest buck ive ever looked between my feet at. Not mad.....

My dad has sat for a grand total of four hours since Friday. He as seen over 25 deer and two shooters.

So far we have seen way more rutting action this weekend then the entire rut last year. Hope it keeps going this way.

Something was just different about Wednesday and Thursday.

I'm thinking that the immediate relief from the bad weather jump started things. Then after a short burst of action things have calmed back down a bit. By mid week to next weekend we should be back to some good chasing... Hell, who really knows other than the deer. :smiley_deer:

I think I have better luck during the pre rut than the chasing, when bucks are just out cruising....Seems like the chase never leads em to me...lol..
