I don’t understand how this happens. You can go to downtown Nashville and find a homeless guy who can sing the phone book. Every little bar is loaded with talent. Heck every church I’ve ever been to has talented folks who can sing amazing.

I saw that she came out today and said she was drunk while she sang last night. Says she's going to rehab.
Like I told my wife last night, there's more than alcohol that's a problem if you have this opportunity - and you're famous for your voice - and you get so drunk beforehand you can't even do the one thing your famous for. The girl has a good voice (she's on my girls' playlist on my phone) and to get that drunk and sound that bad, she's dealing with demons more than alcohol. Kinda sad actually.
Depressions and addictions hit everyone. No one is safe from either of those. It's a fucked up time to live in. No one talks face to face anymore. People don't do family meals. They don't sit around fires and tell stories. People sit on their phones and look at what everyone else has. As we live in this fake social media world that only shows tidbits of life. Fake news outlets. Everyone is in such a damn rush. We are all just surviving on some sort of substance to get us by to keep going. We see it everywhere yet we act like doctors to treat the symptoms, not the root cause. It's depressing all the way around. I need a drink now...

If there was a formal contract that penalized her for backing out or poor performance or something, it could happen. More likely it is a hollow PR move to deal with the blowback MLB got from fans and patriotic Americans over that butchery of our National Anthem.
She did admit to being drunk. So that might play into it. Once again, failure to follow the third S.....
