Most of you guys who know me know I'm involved in a lot of different things, and one of those is serving as co-chair of the board of directors for the Historic Harmar Bridge Company. We're a private nonprofit that owns the last functional swing span style bridge in the country. It's such a cool part of our town, especially when you consider that in the 1850s, a bunch of guys were standing around and someone said: "You know what we should do? We should cut stones out of the side of that hill over there and build piers with them, and then build a bridge using the trees we cut down." And then they did just that. In 2022, we did an underwater inspection on the piers, and they are 99.9% perfect to this day. They are an incredible testament to the skill and gumption of the people in this area at that time. All that said, this is a massive endeavor, and our primary fundraiser is taking place next week with our Harmar Days Festival. Since I have the mower and SxS in my barn right now, I can attest to how badass they are! What I'm offering is that if any TOOzer chooses to support our cause and buy tickets, I'll deliver your prize if you win.
