Packing a deer out

We have done it bow hunting Missouri public land. Buddy killed a doe....all uphill to the truck better than a mile back. We planned to pack it out as does were on the kill list. We brought trash bags and paracord, skint and quartered and placed each leg in a bag and tied paracord to the opposing rear quarter. Backstraps, loins went into a bag and fronts went into the pack. Typically you get 1/3 of meat if everything is kept. Wasn’t a bad haul out and I’d do it again if in a similar situation.

At one point in Ohio’s deer hunting regulations it was illegal too quarter out a deer. Had to bring it whole to the check station to get it registered. Luckily, that went too the wayside....

Probably before I moved here? I’ve done the same thing on a corn fed Indiana whitetail. All up hill, thing was a beast.
