I haven't been this excited for gun season in a while! I can't remember the last time I didn't work the opener either. Levi and I will be in the woods all day tomorrow looking to make some memories. Gun verified and ready. Clothes are in the wash right now! Stay safe and make them memories folks. Smile, laugh, fart and don't forget to share it with someone. This week we are hunters! Carry your bow, gun, muzzleloader, camera, whatever you want! Let's do this!!!

I was talking to Nate this morning, and told him the same thing. It’s been a few years since I’ve been this excited for gun law. I missed out on our annual deer camp last year due to getting married or whatever. I originally wasn’t going to make it down again this year due to work, but i had an extra vacation day unused and they gave me a random day off, conveniently enough it is this Wednesday. I am off work at 0700 tomorrow, stopping home to grab my shit and south I go. Gonna miss the first few hours, but I’m okay with that. Good luck to anyone getting after it!!!!

I'll be out on WNF in an area I'm familiar with, but have never hunted. My duck hunting buddies will be with me, plus one of our old high school buddies. My buddy Jackson has never deer hunted, so the obvious goal is to put him on one. We'll be at the pull off by 4:30 and hope we're the first there. We do have a Plan B, but this is the best choice. The guys on the S end are setup on great escape routes from heavily managed private ground. Jackson will be on the edge of a pine thicket on the nose of that point at the forks of the hollers. The green loop is my 2 mile loop. I'll change it up as I go, but I'll be working into the wind most of the way and have little doubt I'll get some stuff moving. If no one shoots by lunch, I'll be disappointed and surprised.

I mean. . . I shot last week rather than today. You could say things are serious this year..🤣

Still not overly excited. Only takes a moment for your season to change in the right direction. It won't change if you are sitting around sulking. I'll be out and hopeful. Looking forward to a change of pace. Good luck to all!

And yes these are signs for substance abuse clinics that were placed in lawns without permission. They make great targets. 🤣

The lack of wind and thermals will help you! Love that plan.

Enjoy hunting em everybody. I'll cheer you on from the couch....due to being clumsy as a ox, I fell while scouting yesterday afternoon. Slipped on leaves heading down a hill and planted my ample fourth point of contact directly on my left ankle. Heard at least one pop from the ankle as I landed. Unless I go to the ER, the soonest I can see a real doc about this is January. Barring a miracle, I'm probably done until next Sept. Good luck guys and gals...knock em down and post em up!
