That thing is an absolute giant. The grey on his face will make for an awesome mount assuming that is the route you go. I could never imagine what it's like to see something like that while in the stand let alone consider giving em the pass. Congrats on a stellar buck!
Exactly, and every year we have to hear about how bad his area sucks. Yet, year after year he has to try and beg his wife for more wall space.

They are around but they are not around every corner. This was only the second time I've seen him from the stand since 2011-2012 (assuming it is the same deer.) Had not seen him on camera all year. Dude was on a suicide mission I guess. Came out of thicket. Made a straight walk towards my stand. Stopped at 30yds. Dude just wanted to die I guess. I would say he is bigger than anything I have on camera this year so far. Crops are coming off. Deer are getting pushed around by combines. Hunters are entering the woods now bumping deer off their properties. Testosterone is increasing and does are closer to being bred. I was simply in the right place at the right time. I say this not because I am some sort of "super hunter." I say this to motivate you all. Things can happen at any minute. Good or bad. In the next three weeks I'd recommend anyone to get in the woods whenever they can. Hunt the wind. Don't burn out stands. Hunt smart. Try for easy access/egress stands so as to not disturb your areas too much. Don't go be-bopping around the woods. Put your butt in the tree stand or ground blind when you can and stay there. That is what a lot of it comes down to. It is not as if I had this deer patterned or even knew he was still alive and using this property. I just put some time in the stand. Some years it takes a lot of time and we eat a tag. This year I was fortunate and the good Lord blessed me with a short buck season. Good luck all!

Subject to error the green score came up to 138 4/8 and net 133 1/8. Nothing to complain about. Not the 150" my buddy was helping me to add in my head last night. Lol. I don't care. He was an old monarch. 98" would have made him a trophy.
