@giles not at all. Relieved. Now when I left last night and told her I was taking a drive to look for deer? Yes. She was a bit perturbed. Lol. She said "why? You don't have a tag left?" My reply: it's what I do. To which she said "you're ridiculous!" Thanks honey. See you in 30min.

I don't believe this is accurate. There IS some water weight in the head of this buck from melted ice. Charts show filed dressed weight of 208-210 would put him over 250#. In fact, I think it showed 260+. Wish I would have weighed him before he hung. I'm guessing 230-250# live weight. Not the biggest I've killed in regards to body. Nothing to complain about. Lifting the 275-300# deer will about kill you.

Hooves were impressive. Dropped him at taxidermist's today. Told him he could have the cape. I'm not mounting this one. Going to try a euro mount. Not sure if I will mount anymore deer. I don't have a house that can handle too many deer heads. Not sure if I'll ever have a true "man cave" with a dedicated deer mount area.
