Not sure if anyone listens to podcasts, I know all’s out the story, but a buddy just shared this podcast about the piketon massacre. Sad as hell, but very interesting.

I listened to it. Being that I am in Piketon a lot, I feel like I’m pretty familiar with the area. This podcast sorta aggravated me. Typical “big city” type know it alls... the area is poor, yada yada, drugs due to poverty, etc. They never did mention that the Wagner family was wealthy, by most anyone’s standards. They make it sound like the Pike County Sherriff office botched the investigation- when the reality is it was taken over by the state and feds immediately.... and they sorted out who the guilty are even though the rumor mill was saying it was a drug cartel hit. They point to the marijuana grow operation.... every hill in southern Ohio has pot growing on it. These fools make southern Ohio sound like a gang wasteland.... and they should look at a map. Piketon is not SE Ohio. FWIW, the freak that was killing hookers in Chillicothe is from greenfield, currently living in Mexico. He was arrested in Portsmouth a year or so prior to the hookers showing up in Paint Creek for trying to kill a hooker.... and he got out of it. Good grief. Fun listening to this stuff if it’s not in your back yard I suppose. Btw, the genius from Cincinnati thinks glaciers carved the hollers and hills into the area.

It didn't aggravate me, I found it more comical. Stories and outlooks can be totally different. Kinda like Brock said, I guess it would be different if I read that with a blank canvas. Like a story or something. Same reason the Alaska shows are a joke to me. Or the clip J posted about the race thoughts on voter ID. Pretty ignorant to believe it the ways this shows.

Come on Brock. Maybe they were really really tiny glacers that carved those hollows. 🤣.

Please know that no endorsement of the podcast or offense to anyone close to the events are intended.

I look forward to different views of you guys that are much closer to the events and people than me. Reporting of any kind is always slanted by the person doing the reporting. I would love to hear the things that you guys don’t agree with or don’t add up.

I just love trying to understand people and why and how they make the choices they do. What can drive people to do such heinous acts has always intrigued me. As a believer of Christ stories like this just reenforce how lost and evil people can be.

None taken.

Mostly the talk of the area is what cracked me up. Like it's some sort a drug run waste land.

The sheriff department talk was also comical because it is a small town area.

The talk about weed plants growing everywhere 😂. Those are buckeye trees.

I have no clue on what the actually situation was. It could've been all they had to try. I would like to think it was the only option. It aint like the sheriff is living an extravagant lifestyle. Getting paid off by some drug lord.

Same subject different state. Clay you like mystery? Google Mio Michigan deer hunters gone missing. Cold case that got solved. Sure you have heard about it but it makes my skin crawl knowing I've been in that area. Time line is 1985.
