I went this weekend and got all my dad's mounts and such. I got real nervous when I couldn't find tags. Product of no more metal tags got real, real fast. He was also gifted a bobcat from Mississippi about 20 years ago. A roadkill buck mount and replica buck too! No paperwork at all on it. So if you have any of these kinds of things, I suggest leaving a box of paperwork or having some sort of receipt wrote out for who is left behind. @Jackalope this might be something Jessica can add to her portfolio.
I got in contact with my local GW and had a good conversation with him. One that left us both feeling comfortable. I had enough old tags and such of his to leave him in good faith. I also already have a good relationship with the GW. I'd say all of this helped play into the entire situation. It could've gone much worse. So keep this in mind and plan ahead. My dad was 62 when he was no longer able to handle doing this kind of planning ahead. So don't wait!
