Planting season

Corn is sporadic around here. At the end of my road it's 5 foot tall, outside of town there's farms where it's only 1-2 foot. Was just down on the stark-tusc county line today and saw a field with tasseled out corn. We need rain something fierce, it's dry as a bone.

Beans beside my in-laws ain't lookin very good, they aren't growing much and the groundhogs are tearing up the corners of the field. We'll fix the hogs this Saturday though[emoji23]

How's your Eagle Beans looking Chad?
Deer are keeping the plot fairly low, I haven't really gotten to get a good look at it. Trying to keep my scent down in the plot. Each time I've pulled the camera card that watches just a small part of the plot I get alot of doe and small bucks feeding in it.

We are in the part of the state that has missed most of the rain. Less that 2" since the first of May. Last measurable rain (.7") was 20 days ago.

I went out to our land with about 30 gallon of water in my 55 gallon drum. Watered 5 trees and the ground just soaked it up like it was nothing.

Not too bad here, had a few good rains but starting to get dry again.
How are the trees looking Chad?
I was out mowing the perimeter's of the crp fields yesterday and they were cropdusting the crop fields with a helicopter.
Pretty cool to watch.

Got one dunston chestnut that's dead, the other 3 aren't looking bad. Got one Apple tree that is producing apples now, the other one is a 3 year old tree and isn't producing yet. Just sucks that I have to load up the ranger with the drum in the back to get my trees water.

It's been another wet year down here. Really only had one dry week most fields around here look great. Saw a guy drilling beans last week after cutting wheat. The dude that hunts that farm is in for a fun opener if those beans take off!

Had a fair amount or rain at our hunting property. Corn and beans in the plot look good. Going to plant some brassicas and forage oats in August.
Hope you guys in the dry get some rain.
