Dave....some hints....the bigger the pond the less grass you need to mow. Get a load of boulders for lining one side. Perhaps build some rock tee-pee’s in the middle. Grab 20 ton of pea gravel for your beach/spawning area. Seed the whole pond inside and out therefore as it fills your zooplankton begins to grow. Been there done this. I’ll be starting another when I get get about $20k in my hands.

You can also create structures by simply glueing together PVC. Plastic bushes, trees, boxes, etc with a concrete base (bucket).

Be very careful when placing structure in that pond if your kids are going to swim in it. Last thing you want is for them to get injured by diving on it or get snagged underwater.

Moving dirt around is nice but “sticks in the ground“ feels more like a commitment.

Still inching. This is about the shape it'll be. Still need to go down a good bit. Guessing this will be the last burn of trees and stumps. What doesn't burn up will end up in a deep hole in this front left corner. That'll be my habitat area.
