Funny thing about this pox... the good doctor I heard on TV the other day said it was spread similarly to AIDS. Gay and bisexual men. Strange. Faucci knows something about that type of transmission.

The R0 of Monkeypox has traditionally been less than 1 which means it usually peters out on it's own. R1 means means 1 person will infect 1 other person. meaning the virus will persist but not grow. Anything above 1 means one person will infect more than 1 person and the infection is growing. The original strain of covid had an R value of around 4. Meaning one person would infect 4 others. It grew pretty slow and infected in waves. Omicron had an R value of 23 and we saw how fast that spread, in a matter of weeks it seemed like everyone had it. Monkeypox is actually pretty hard to catch and requires some pretty heavy physical contact with body fluids and sores.
