Prayers and thoughts please

Came close to that happening in my family too, Dave. Kids have a lot more pressure on them these days than when I was growing up. I know every generation says that, but it's true. We live in very difficult times and they feel it.

Agree on all counts - give them as much support and love as you can, and try to get them to open up / talk about what's going on in their lives. If they need psychological help, get it for them. Watch for warning signs and don't ignore them (http://jasonfoundation.com/youth-suicide/warning-signs/)

I'll be sure to pray for her.

Add these guys to list of prayers and thoughts TOO. Sorry man, don't wish this type of thing on anyone.
Thanks man really appreciate it. It was eye opening for her to see a therapist though. They drug test her every week and she thinks she has control over tho he and she learned through drug testing she doesn't. She smokes pot knew that was going to be on the test but on the test it came back with opioids, methamphetamines, and LSD. She claims she never has taken any of those and I told her that's what happens when you're at the bottom of the line buying stuff like that from sketchy street dealers. You don't know what they have put in that stuff nor can you trust them, they are out to make money and that's it. I'm just glad she didn't have a reaction to any of those and die. So please please please, I urge you to talk to your younger family members about drug use. It's a couple minute conversation that can save there life.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but there's no way they put LSD, opioids, or meth in pot. So her addiction might be more than you think.

So sorry to hear this Dave! Glad she didn't succeed and I hope and pray she finds the help to where she doesn't try again!

Thoughts and prayers to her and your family!

Had it happen to a friend with opioids. Crushed it up, put in the bag. Was already grinded down so you couldn't tell it was in there. And with the methamphetamine it could have been something like Adderall that came up as a positive for it, so if she took that when she was high, which kids I know when I was back in high school did to get a cloud 9 focused in type high did, that could be the case. But I'm not sure how LSD would work it's way into the mix unless she took eddible THC such as brownies, chocolate, or something along that nature, and it had it in with it but I'm pretty sure she just did LSD without anything else cause she hangs out with a lot of hippies. But this isn't the thread to talk about this on. I got stories for days about deals gone bad or drugs being laced with other things, had 3 friends die from drug, 1 OD, and 2 were because they were laced with something. Also had a friend go into a seizure while smoking dabs, a earwax looking thc concentrate substance smoked with a special bong and a torch cause it was laced with tramadol. Those pills are not ment to be burned or used with high heat which when heated up can cause a chemical reaction changing it to a toxin and causes all kinds of problems. We also just found out from her mom that they found there hydrocodone prescription from years ago empty in her room a couple days ago...

Sorry to hear this Giles and Ryan. Good points made for someone such as myself who is planning on kids in the near future. It's the little things that may make the biggest difference, I.e. (hugs) (verbalizing your love) etc. Hoping for a smooth recovery for both.

prayers sorry to hear about this, i awlays catch myself thinking about my kids and how i would handle different situations its scary too think about the stuff they have to grow up with now, ive lost a child i know what it feels like to be completely helpless and i dont wish that pain on anyone i hope everyone affected by this comes out ok the parents will have some many what ifs and how can this happen to us going through their heads its not gonna be easy for anyone.

My goodness I am sorry to hear about this Dave! Hang in there bud. I can't imagine a child wanting to take their own life. That's so fucked up!

Yes it is...

I'm glad to report that when I got home from work tonight, no one was crying. This has been pretty rough on my wife and daughter. They both have music going still, but I'm ok with that, whatever helps. I used to have to sleep with the radio on to keep my mind from racing, so it actually helps me sleep too.

Weighing on my mind tonight... Take the chance to give your kid a complement. I'm not talking about everyone gets a trophy. I'm talking about giving your kid an "attaboy/girl" for doing simple things. Like picking up their plate from dinner. It's those things that matter. Give them some self worth. Let them be proud of themselves.
