Prayers for a 6wk old please

Picture makes it three time hard Phil. Rely on the Grace of God! All things are possible.

I like the picture. It shows a lot of things to be happy about. It's much better than the mental pic I had going in my head. Thank you for sharing the pic of the happy little Jackson!

Do they have a fund going yet on FB or anything? I don't have much to offer, but kinda like prayers, it all adds up.

dang phil just saw this... From that pic he's one tough little man, thoughts and prayers sent out to Jackson and the famliy.

Thanks all.

My wife updated me a bit tonight. She said Jackson has received his first treatment. I believe she said he will receive 4 treatments per week. Need to verify this as I only caught part of the conversation she was telling my parents at dinner.

She did say it originated on the adrenal glands. It then moved to the liver. The Petscan showed a spot on his arm as well. Doctors said with this type of cancer, if caught in the first year it is curable and survival rates increase tremendously. He turned 2mo on the 2nd of May. He started having issues around 6wks, so in a two week time frame they diagnosed and had started treatments. I do not know what we are looking at for duration of treatments, survival rates, or much of anything really. Just figured I would update you all with what I had found out. Once again, thank you all so much for the prayers. Truly appreciated.

Sounds somewhat promising but I wonder what caused this being how very young he is?!? I mean, could this have been in him while she carried him and has she been checked out?!?

Thoughts and prayers continue...

Same questions we have asked ourselves Ric. Probably never know. Erin and I figured it would almost have to be. Hard to believe it would form so rapidly in the first 6wks of his life, but we will probably never find out an answer like this. Situations like this tend to make people lean on their faith or leave their faith. Erin and I pray it brings Kathleen (Erin's niece) and her family closer to their faith.

Is there anything set up to help the family with medical bills and what not? Ideas on anything the TOO community could do to brighten their spirits and let them know there are a lot of folks out there pulling for little Jackson?

great idea! Im in to help get something going!

That is a great gesture Jesse. I appreciate it. I know she is a single mother. Jackson's father has been there as much as possible when not working. Not sure where he works. Some sort of factory work. They aren't exactly "loaded". Erin said nothing has been set up yet. Maybe I can talk Erin into doing some homework on setting up a charitable organization in Jackson's name. She said something about a "go fund me" dot com account.

Positive news for the day: looks like Jackson and Kathleen came home today. He had his first treatment and it went well. They will need 4 days of treatments every three weeks in Columbus. I am uncertain what happens from there. I suppose it will depend on the results and petscans.

Go Fund Me would be a great thing to set up.

Good news on them coming home. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Erin did proceed with setting up a Go Fund Me account for them. I will post a link.

As for an update: I believe he has had 4 treatments now. He is home although they did have to go back for a blood transfusion. I have no details on this or the reason why. All i know is he is a cute lil' feller. They are doing a lot of back and forth from Lima to Columbus. Both parents are working as much as they can and when they can. Kathleen's brother has stepped into the role of a wonderful uncle. He watched Jackson and brought him to our house yesterday for a cook out while Mommy was at work.

Your prayers are appreciated very much. If you want to (or don't want to) donate, this is fine. Whatever you are comfortable with. I do NOT like asking for money, but I do want to share the link for those who have asked. It is the least I can do for baby Jackson and his parents.
