Anyone have experience with a griddle grill like a Black Stone? I like the idea of cooking food and not losing all the juices and not losing shit through the grill. Not keen on the prep and clean up though. I’m torn.

I have one. Awesome for cooking breakfast and also stuff like cheesesteaks. Prep isn’t bad, just clean with a paper towel and put oil on it. Clean up isn’t bad either, just turn grill off, pour some water from a pitcher on it and scrape it off. Dry with a paper towel then put oil on it. Making sure there is oil on it at all times is the most important thing. Plenty of room for stuff like hash browns, peppers and onions, pancakes. I have a tent over mine so you can cook in the shade. Also, make sure you don’t set it up next to flowers or shrubs….damn bugs will try to add themselves to your menu. On a side note, when I cook stuff like hot dogs or burgers, I’ll use a charcoal grill….i just like the taste of meat when cooked over coals. Hoped this helped. Hopefully Dano will chime in….hes the griddle expert.

Can't cook an egg on a grill
Can't cook stir fry on a grill.
:giggle:

My guess is you already have a grill - actually good to have both.

I literally just cooked/ate a bunch of bacon and eggs on my griddle, in the garage.
I'll go out in a few mins and warm the grill back up a little, scrape it, wipe it down with oil, and be ready for next time.
Once you get it seasoned, cleaning is easy peasy.
Don't be afraid of cleaning.

I've had a Blue Rhyno griddle for 6 years, just replaced the regulator ($20) and I prefer this to Blackstone because of the position of the grease dump being at the left front instead of the middle in back. This thing has been all over and used alot, and still works great

If you had to choose between one or the other? Choose both.
Think pancakes
Think hashbrowns
Think french toast
Think stirfry
think burgers and hotdogs
did I mention stirfry?

Before anyone chimes in, I'm not knocking Blackstone - a guy brought a blackstone to fishcamp and that was my first exposure to the griddle scene, saw it, used it, had to have one. - Blackstone is a fine griddle. I'm sure some of the griddles that you can get at Sams Club are just great. Not knocking anyone's griddle - just saying why I like the Blue Rhyno. <whew> (And when I bought mine, it was $319) And the cover folds over it, and opens as work surface.

Best of both worlds .....I can't remember the last time I've used my full sized Blackstone.

We barely use ours. Our garage is not attached to the house (where we store it) so it isn't the most convenient thing loading everything up on a tray just to go out and fry up a couple eggs and bacon. We used to do smash burgers and did stir fry once. One other big problem we had was mice getting on the cook top and leaving their call-signs :poop:. After a few times of removing the top to scrub it down we ended up getting a silicone mat that fits perfectly into the griddle, that solved the problem. Ours also did not come with a lid so that is something to consider. I keep thinking if I get our deck done like I want, with a cover over top, I will move it onto that and be able to use it more. Will see.

I love having a griddle far more than a grill. I do have one of the little Weber charcoal grills that I'll use when I'm feeling froggy, but the Traeger griddle I bought has seen far more use than my grill ever did.
Reading your comment made me realize that I have a propane grill, a charcoal grill, a black stone griddle and a Traeger smoker….no wonder I’m fat!😂
